PRESIDENT JOKOWI'S SON'S WEDDING REMINDS HISTORY AND CULTURE
NEWSMOTIVA
INTERNATIONAL - The marriage of the eldest son of the President of the Republic
of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, namely Kaesang Pangarep and Erina Gudono, attracted
the attention of the domestic and foreign public.
This
is not only because President Joko Widodo's level of popularity is quite good
in the eyes of the world, it is also because the rituals of the wedding
ceremony are packaged to resemble the customs and culture of the royal era in
national history.
The
enthusiasm of the Indonesian people in large numbers reached tens of thousands
of people who were present to witness, as well as appreciation from His
Excellency Hamangkubuono XI as the successor to the throne of the Surakarta
Kraton, further added to the sacred charm.
The
presence of invited guests from all walks of life, ranging from ordinary people
to state officials, including Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri who made Joko Widodo
president of the Republic of Indonesia for two terms and her daughter Puan
Maharani, gave rise to the impression that Indonesia is a democracy, not a
kingdom. ( 01/NM/Yehezkiel Suyoto )
