SAMBO'S AND PUTRI'S VENDORS WERE WEIGHTER THAN THE PROSPERATION'S DEMAND

 

NEWSMOTIVA INTERNATIONAL - Tragic is a fact that must be faced by the former Head of Division of Propam Ferdy Sambo who has a two-star rating, and his wife Putri Candrawathi who is a dentist. In fact, during the sentencing hearing on Monday (13/2/2023), the judge decided that the sentence was more severe than the prosecutor's demands. Ferdy Sambo was sentenced to death, which was previously life imprisonment, while Putri Candrawathi was 20 years old, previously only 8 years.

 

                                                                                                                                                                                     

The Duren Tiga case, which has been tried since 2022, has indeed attracted public attention in itself, even giving rise to forms of intervention from various parties who want Ferdy Sambo and Putri Candrawathi to be punished to the fullest extent according to Article 340 of the Criminal Code concerning premeditated murder. This could be a "role model" in enforcing the law to anticipate the recurrence of the same incident within the Indonesian National Police, but who can guarantee.

 

Attorney for Ferdy Sambo and Putri Candrawathi Arman Hanis said they were very disappointed with the sentence handed down by the judge despite respecting the decision. According to him, during the trial, he did not expect much because the previous judge made the assumption that when he went to the High Court, it was expected that he would be the same, so his party first studied the considerations in filing an appeal.
